From War to Wheels: How Afghanistan Created a Supercar Sensation

Currently, there is a lot of discussion on social media about a supercar made in Afghanistan. A supercar made by the Taliban, who is in control over Afghanistan since 2021. This car is made by Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI) and Kabul-based manufacturer Entop with the assistance of Afghanistan's Ministry of Information Technology and their innovation center. The Mada 9 supercar prototype has been developed with the hilly terrains of Afghanistan in mind and will be rigorously tested before eventually being put into production.

This supercar is a mid-engine supercar that uses the four-cylinder engine of a 2000 Toyota Corolla. It's rumored to be made from lightweight composite materials (Two materials with different physical and chemical properties are combined to form a new compound, it is called a composite material), based on a tubular frame chassis, with F1-style pushrod suspension. The engine will sit behind the driver. However, the work on this car started about 5 years ago. The manufacturer has not revealed any specifications and as well engine details are not available yet.

Muhammad Raza Ahmadi, CEO of Entop, said that the team had been developing the prototype body and engine for five years and plans to unveil it at a car exhibition in Qatar. Although the car is drivable, it is not yet in commercial production. All the production work is done in Afghanistan, but most of the parts of the vehicle have been used from other cars. Mada 9 development seems like an ambitious project. It will be a significant milestone for the people of Afghanistan if renowned automakers and investors from around the world decide what parts will go into commercial production.

A video posted by @entopco shows the Mada 9 parked on the slippery, snowy road and the car surrounded by Taliban fighters. Entop also claims the Mada 9 is one step ahead of other prototype cars. Engineers from a war-torn country who can dream up a car model and make it a reality are truly commendable.
